Sometimes, other folks don’t want to hear about the obvious mistakes that they are making, though.
Recently, I accidentally exasperated my acquaintance plus potentially ruined our entire relationship by suggesting that she invest in a smaller standing fan for her room. I thought that this was a pretty inert recommendation, however a lot of people want to complain more than they want to make fluctuations. The conversation all started because my acquaintance was complaining about trying to work from house while in this quarantine. Apparently, her town plus her condo are both legitimately loud plus distracting. She has trouble working unless she has a lot of background noise to drown out the unlucky sounds, plus her favorite pale white noise machine was her Heating plus Air Conditioning system. She easily loved the sound of the a/c running outside of her room because the cooling machine was so loud. Every day, she set her indoor air temperature super low so the A/C system was running all day plus afternoon. She confessed that she opened the windows sometimes to allow moderate air into the house, just to keep the control component convinced that more cooling power was necessary. This way, her A/C hardly ever turned off, plus she could concentrate for hours on end. When I asked her about her energy bill, she said it was massive however necessary. She would just need to cancel our trip next year for the sake of the energy bill. That’s when I carefully asked if she would consider giving that cooling system a cut plus using a small table fan for background noise instead, but considering she hung up on me, I feel she’s not interested.
