Husband wanted a free “sauna,” mostly got mildew and Heating & A/C replaces

I feel I never should have suggested that my wife try to lose weight for her current year’s resolution in 2020.

Four years, her doctor has been asking him to drop some pounds so she could take some pressure off of her outdated heart.

For years, she has been ignoring her doctor and living a sedentary lifestyle. Well, at the end of 2019 I finally convinced him to get drastic about her health and to join a gym in the current year. She did, however obviously she enjoyed the gym a little too much. In fact, she got especially spoiled using the sauna that they provided. About three months into her current gym routine and sauna obsession, the pandemic hit. Now, she hasn’t been able to go to the gym or the sauna for months. Instead, she got the bright idea that she should create her own sauna in our master bath. She said it would be super simple, and she only needed a few space furnaces to do the task. First, she went into the bathroom and plugged up all of the air vents so that our powerful air conditioner couldn’t pump any chilly air into her sizzling space. Then, she pulled a few space furnaces out of the attic and plugged them in on the highest setting in the bathroom. She closed the door and she ran the shower as hot warm as it would go. After that, it was a matter of time. She would sit in her warm and humid environment, insisting that it was helping him to get healthier and lose weight. I didn’t want to discourage her semi healthy behavior, however at a particular point she was doing more harm than good. Not only was she using up extra electricity to heat the bathroom and re-cool the house afterwards, but she was turning our bathroom into a mildew farm. Maybe the sauna feels nice for him, however the black spots and lingering humidity in our bathroom don’t feel healthy to breath.
