Isn’t it funny how you learn to read your friends like a book? For instance, 4 years ago when my best friend started dating someone new, I remember asking her very carefully if she actually had romantic feelings for him.
She simply didn’t seem like she was excited about the romantic portions of their relationship, and they didn’t interact like a couple.
She insisted that they loved each other and they wound up being together for another 4 years… Last week she told me they broke up because she never actually loved him. No kidding. My other friend is just as predictable. If she has to have an emergency heating, cooling, and ventilation appointment, you can get your paycheck that she and her current boyfriend will break up within a week. The thing is, she is obsessed with HVAC technicians. For as long as I’ve known her, she has only dated one type of human – heating and cooling specialists, and she has no self control. I’m not sure what it is about them that drives her so crazy, but every time she meets a new heating, cooling, and ventilation technician, she’s in a new relationship. This is often at the cost of her old HVAC relationship. Just last week, I was talking to her on the phone when she said that the cooling system wasn’t working right at her house. Her boyfriend, an emergency HVAC repairman, was currently travelling for another job, so she was going to have to call a different HVAC dealer for help. Right then, I knew that her old relationship was about to end and a new air quality specialist would be moving in. Sure enough, after her air conditioning system was running again, so was she. I just hope her old boyfriend isn’t upset about the new HVAC tech at the shop taking his girl.
